It was mentioned that perhaps the collection of dances performed for Season 7 was one of best OnStage performances to date.
I performed in three pieces this season. All of the choreographers (Pinto, Heather and Sarah) had so much passion for their pieces, and together we made their vision come to life on stage. I worked very hard at all of my pieces and at the end of the 7:00 pm finale I felt proud standing on stage with all of you. A few days later though the critical side of me kicked me.
I started thinking of the "if only" moments. If only I could put the best of the 2:00 performance with the 7:00 performance I would be much happier. If only I could have pointed my foot all of the time and kept a smile on my face all of the time and held my pose a second longer to make it more beautiful.
However, I didn't let that thinking consume me. The next day I starting thinking of the fun I had and how much I had learned from watching other dancers this season... how beautiful a hand could be coming into or out of a step or pose and how I worked on bringing my own version of beauty to the pieces I was performing in.
While all of this was going on in my head, Facebook was filled with comments from dancers, and pictures of the performance were being posted. I had seen the pictures and read the comments but went back to them again and really looked at them. That's when I noticed a beautifully extended hand, a perfect pointed toe, a smile to die for, the beauty in the pregnant mothers and I thought omg... what a "perfect" collection we made. Thanks again to everyone at OnStage for continuing to make me feel beautiful inside and out!
