Hey ya'll! Last time you heard from me I was super pregnant (Read: Step Up 2: The Womb) ...and I stayed super pregnant over two entire long hot weeks after I was supposed to give birth. Cruel summer for real. But now I am happy to report I am dancing in four pieces in my eighth season of OnStage Dance Company.
After spending the summer large and in charge...seriously, I gained over 55 pounds. I was so eager to get back to my old self. I wanted to lose the weight I put on and get back to my life of rehearsals and teaching fitness classes. Turns out my old self didn't have an adorable tiny BFF by her side at all times. My son Jack is my entire world... and in this world I have to find a way to make it work to continue to do all the things I love. My husband plays on two soccer teams, so between work, rehearsals, games and practices... the Coen family is always busy.
I refuse to stop being me. I can't tell you how many times people told me, "You're going to have to stop dancing when you have a baby" or "Get ready to give up your life." If anything life has just gotten fuller. I'm not giving anything up... I'm just adding more crazy fun. Sure, it takes a lot of hustle to make it work. Just to go to rehearsal, I have to pump and feed 60 minutes before. It's to the point where I have an adapter that plugs into the lighter in my car so I can pump on my way home from the studio. It's crazy up in here in this new life but I'm killing it everyday. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't do something. You can always make it work... bitch.
