By this point in my OnStage blogging career, you all should recognize me as the girl who does literally as many dances as Jen and Kelly allow (typically 6). For dancers new to the company, I'm the one Jen called out at the meeting as signing up and actually committing to all the dances I can do. I love to dance and I love my dance family at OnStage, so why wouldn't I want to be at the studio every second that I can?
Preliminary rosters only cause stress when I don't get into one of my top choices. But most times, I am happy with what I've gotten into and simply submit my commitment to the season. I also look at what I got wait listed for and hope the dance gods and goddesses are on my side and will allow me to dance every night of the week! Honestly, I often get very lucky when it comes to wait lists, so that should be a bode of confidence for new members worried about how many they didn't get into on Prelims! I typically sit back and watch my friends try to work out their schedule so they can be in the pieces they want to be in. Me? I egg them on with comments like: "Life is much easier when you do all of the dances."
My only challenge this season is that Jen and Kelly lowered the max number of dances to 5. OH NO! THE HUMANITY. Just kidding, because I wanted to do #only5 anyways.
